Athletic Therapy

The scope of practice of an athletic therapist includes the prevention, assessment and reconditioning of musculoskeletal injuries as well as the provision of athlete education and on field immediate care. Rehabilitation techniques employed include manual therapy, therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, IFC, TENS, muscle stim, laser, etc.), soft tissue mobilization, fascial techniques, supportive strapping procedures (taping and bracing) and physical reconditioning to prepare individuals for safe reintegration into an active lifestyle.
